Aloha, you’ve stumbled upon my blog and probably deserve a little background.
Personally …
I’m a 30 year old guy that recently moved to St. Petersburg, Florida (not Russia) a couple months ago from Denver. I’m originally from Wyoming – that big square above Colorado on the map. Going from weekends of hiking 14ers to beaches has been a nice change. My girlfriend came along for the ride and has thankfully stuck with me for over 10 years (waiting for me to get my shit together). I have an intense interest in music that leads to me to try to go to as many concerts as I can talk people into going, and purchase 2 guitars that I’ve never learned to play. Besides that I enjoy a good movie, a good beer (like Coors Light), and relaxing.
Professionally …
When I was in second grade, I said I wanted to be a game show host and unfortunately that didn’t happen. Maybe I would have tried harder if I only had known that Bob Barker was getting with all the Barker’s Beauties. My sophomore year in college I was an accounting major, then I noticed all the hype and salaries around the jobs in the Internets and subsequently changed to computers. 10+ years later, I’m still in the game. Along the way I’ve worked mostly in software development, architecture, and consulting at places including Level (3) Communications, Oracle, and Initech. For the most part I’ve been focused on Java web & mobile apps. Please don’t follow my mother’s lead and assume that since I know something about software that I’m an expert at figuring out why your computer makes that ‘funny’ noise.
